Check out these 3 date night ideas that all cost you less than $10!
1. Geocaching Date = $9.99
This is one of the few cheap date ideas that also takes almost no preparation time.
In a nutshell, Geocaching is a treasure hunt game that someone else has already made for you!
Here’s how it works:
-
Someone gets a box and puts some treasure in it – usually small toys or nic-nacs
-
They hide it somewhere (they’re everywhere!) and mark down the GPS location so others can find it
-
They upload the location, along with some clues, so other people can find it using the Geocaching App
-
When you get there you keep one of the nic-nacs and put one of your own back for someone else to find
Here is quick video explaining it a little more:
This is a really fun date idea since neither of you know how it’s going to turn out. And, the adventure will keep the conversation flowing!
2. Chalk n’ Sidewalk Date = $3
This is about as cheap as it gets!
Before the date go around your neighborhood with a box of chalk drawing arrows and romantic notes for your spouse. Then hide a small present at the end (old school style candy or chocolate is great!) and head back home again.
When it’s a good time, casually say “Lets go for a walk” – without letting on that anything is out of the ordinary. Eventually your spouse will notice that there is more than just a walk going on!
At this point let them take charge and find the clues that lead to the hidden present at the end!
This one only takes about 30 minutes to prepare for and is totally great for the hip pocket!
If you’d like to take it to the next level (by spending $6 for example…) here are some more ideas to make this cheap date idea even cooler!
3. Cook at home Date = $8
You can make a cooking date even more fun by surprising each other with the ingredients to cook with!
One of you makes dinner and the other does dessert – choose or flip a coin.
Then head to the store together and agree to meet back outside in 15 minutes. You both have the mission of buying 1 ingredient that the other must use in their meal (and it can only cost $4 or less!).
This is fun as you’ll find yourselves sneaking around trying to avoid each other.
When you get home make a big deal of revealing what you’ve got each other – then let the cheffing begin!
Take the Challenge
Next time money is tight (which could be now!) keep the romance growing – after all it’s only $10!
