About

Hi there! Welcome to Spouse Dates!

What is Spouse Dates about?

Spouse Dates is here to help you to become a better spouse and build better marriage – one date at a time.

The idea that dating is only a “pre-marriage” thing is wrong. Dating your spouse should never stop.

Also, we should never stop getting better at dating.

So often as couples we don’t just stop getting better at dating, we stop dating altogether.

Why?

Life gets busy.  Schedules fill up.  Bills pile up.  Kids come along and need attention.  Time, money and energy are limited.  Priorities shift and dating takes a back seat or gets pushed out of the picture totally!

But dating should not be in the back seat. Nor should dating be pushed out of the picture!

Marriage experts and social science agree that married couples who continue to date each other experience:

  • more fun
  • better communication
  • deeper romance
  • stronger commitment
  • lower stress levels

So a little about me…

My name is Steve Pare and I have been married to my gorgeous wife, Chrissy, for over 20 years. We have four kids and currently live in Cleveland Ohio. During my day day job I work as a hospice nurse with Cleveland Clinic. Chrissy is a kindergarten teacher.

I am the creator of Spouse Dates and the author of Build a Better Marriage [ One Date at a Time ].

Our first date was a double date with my sister and her future husband. We went to an upscale Chinese restaurant in Philadelphia called Joy Tsin Lau. You can read more about it here.
